Giving With Impact

 

Giving with Impact facilitates philanthropic-minded individuals and businesses to collectively pool funding and resources for charitable causes.

Giving With Impact is participating in Rotary Club of Carlsbad’s 7th Annual Wine & Vine Uncorked Carlsbad event to raise money for multiple welding school scholarships for students in North County San Diego. If you’d like to have a share of your ticket purchase go toward supporting this Trade School opportunity, please consider selecting ‘Giving With Impact’ on the dropdown menu when you go to purchase tickets. What We Do

Giving with Impact is a group of people who together to leverage their resources of time, talent and treasure in a social and empowered setting in which they engage in continued learning and support of nonprofit organizations doing the groundwork to improve the lives and support of the highest need populations in our society.

This collective impact circle has the goal of strengthening our communities and specifically:

  • Fully inform individuals and families of their potential and ability to maximize their ability to make an impact that benefits those less fortunate.
  • Match philanthropists with other giving individuals and businesses to collectively impact the problems of our society by pooling funds and/or volunteering time with nonprofit organizations.
  • Establish a peer network of people who enjoy each other’s company.
  • Fund programs and volunteer at nonprofit organizations that are making a difference in our community.

 

Encinitas Fund

The mission of the Encinitas Fund is to address local needs and to encourage philanthropy for the benefit of Encinitas and its communities.

Through this giving circle a person, family or business can make one donation, and through pooled philanthropy, make a boarder impact in Encinitas through grants to numerous nonprofits and community projects.

Established in 2018, the Fund is part of Coastal Community Foundation that has been serving the North Coast for over 31 years. The mission of Coastal Community Foundation is to enhance the quality of life in the San Diego North County area by directing philanthropic efforts toward community needs.

A grant committee of Encinitas residents who have contributed to the fund and the Foundation will provide oversight to ensure that grants from the Encinitas Fund are distributed for charitable purposes in the community and administered in accordance with established standards and best practices for community foundations.

Encinitas Fund Awards 2021 Grants

The American Academy of Pediatrics  for Reach Out and Read. During regularly, scheduled well-child visits, RORSD-trained providers teach parents how to use daily reading and engagement to support their children’s continuous learning.

Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito to support financial assistance and mentoring for after school programs and ensures that no youth is turned away from the program.

Community Resource Center for social services and assistance to low-income seniors in Encinitas

Hand to Hand

Hand to Hand is a group of women who grant funds to local non-profits which promote economic self-sufficiency and positive change in the lives of women and girls.

History:

In the spring of 2008, a group of women began to discuss ways that they could make a difference in the community for women and girls through their joint philanthropy.  In October 2008 Hand to Hand was established as a charitable fund at Coastal Community Foundation. Nineteen women joined as founders.

Mission:

Hand to Hand makes an impact in the lives of women and girls in San Diego County by directly resources to programs that empower change and self-sufficiency.  Hand to Hand fulfills its mission by funding education and job training for women, programs to help women re-enter the work force, mentoring programs for girls, and microloan programs through non-profit organizations.

Why You Should Join:

Grant funds are made possible through the membership donations. By investing $500, you become a voting member and you will be able to help select the grant recipients. OR you can participate as a “Friend” of Hand to Hand and your donation at any level provides additional funding for grants.

Over the past 14 years, Hand to Hand has distributed grants totaling over $488,000 for programs and services for women and girls.

  • All Tribes Charter School serves girls – empowering them with tools to grow in their self-confidence, self-esteem, self-sufficiency, identity, and independence, as well as a possible new career choice ahead.
  • Operation Hope’s vision – to promotes economic self-sufficiency and positive change to the lives of women and children who are experiencing homelessness.
  • The North County African American Women’s (NCAAW) – dedicated to providing a support network through education, health awareness, and life skills program for women and girls in San Diego North County
  • ElderHelp of San Diego – focuses on the needs of seniors in San Diego, enabling them to be independent and remain in their homes. The majority of their clients are women.

2021 grants:

  • Brother Benno Foundation – helping underserved women obtain the identification papers needed to access support services
  • Foundation for Women Warriors – providing transition and emergency services for female veterans in need
  • MANA de San Diego – supporting the economic mobility of Latinas through mentoring and leadership programs
  • Operation Hope North County – assisting women and children transition out of homelessness through Steps to Independence program

2020 grants:

  • Dreams for Change – housing assistance for young women as a result of COVID-19
  • Just in Time for Foster Youth – resilience checks for young women as a result of job loss and for emergency needs
  • Kitchens for Good – for case management for women in the job training program and hunger relief meals for the community

Solana Beach Fund

The mission of the Solana Beach Fund is to address and fund community needs and to build local philanthropy through ongoing and legacy gifts.  The fund provides grants for nonprofit programs and community projects for the benefit of Solana Beach, its residents, businesses and friends.

The founding members believe in a Thriving Community that builds strong nonprofits, supports neighborhoods and families and ensures a vibrant culture.

The grant focus for 2023 is to support our most vulnerable neighbors who are currently experiencing added financial challenges. Through partnerships with Community Resource Center, La Colonia Community Foundation, and other nonprofits emergency funds will be available to meet basic needs.
